I do find it interesting in general what trends within fandoms. I know when I did Pharmercy week this past summer, I had one angsty fic while the rest were fluffy and the angsty one got way less attention than the others. But then I can write something angsty for another pairing in another fandom and it's way better received than a fluffy version. While I'm a big supporter of people writing whatever the hell they want, there's something also to be said about what fandoms gobble up like hotcakes laced with crack.
