I hear you, especially about how terrible harassment is in the gaming community. I remember people being almost comically surprised by Gamergate back in 2014, but (I'm a bit ashamed to admit that) I didn't even pay attention to it at first because the whole unpleasant affair just seemed like business as usual to me.

My main participation in the gaming "community" is through Reddit, where I post questions (and sometimes answers) about gameplay and collectibles. I've been doing this since about 2013, and every year I delete my account and start a new one. Not because anything bad has actually happened to me, but because the fact that it could is so tangible.
