And yet I feel strangely dirty?????
No but seriously, time travel, how does it even.
The only other story cycle for which I've had to constantly consult wiki pages to figure out what's going on is Gene Wolfe's four-volume The Book of the New Sun, which, incidentally, also involves time travel of a sort.
