"Square dancing is a problem left over from history."

China’s noisy ‘dancing grannies’ silenced by device that disables speakers

China is home to an estimated 100 million dancing grannies. Square dancing allows older women, many of whom live alone or with younger family members who they accompanied on a move to the cities, to socialise. They form strong bonds, often shopping or doing other activities, including group investments, together, the South China Morning Post reported.

I love stuff like this, and I actually chose to live in West Philadelphia because of the noise pollution. I write in the evenings in a local park, often in the proximity of a group of dancing grannies who do lo-fi step to classic Motown. They don't have great stamina tbh, so I feel that if the 45 minutes they're dancing bothers you then that's your problem.

I would gladly murder the driver of every ice cream truck though.
