Git Gud, Part Four
This is about me querying to review zines for an actual print magazine.

I love zines, and I love Broken Pencil. As much as I like the print magazine, I also appreciate their website (although you need a subscription to access most of it). Along with a constant stream of short but excellent zine reviews, they post a "call for submissions" feature each week, and some of them are really interesting.
I've pitched myself as a zine reviewer twice before. I never got a response, but it doesn't hurt to try again, right? I just emailed them this morning, and I followed up the email with a DM on Twitter. The way I pitched myself in my email is that I always have an eye out for digital zines, and that it might be cool to treat super-indie story games on Itchio as "zines" as well.
I have a friend who's also planning to respond to this call for reviewers. In a best-case scenario, we'd both be "hired" (for this non-paying position), but honestly? They have excellent taste, and I'd like read more of their work. I hope they make it.
I hope we all make it, in the end.
