Honestly I'm grateful for every day that the only news is about some politician leaving cringe comments on a porn site. As much as I love horror in fiction, horror in real life is difficult to handle.

This is just my own personal impression, but I get the feeling that I'm not alone in spending more time away from social media these days. At this point it feels like the only options for being active on social media are to retreat entirely into anime or to convince yourself that constantly sharing intensely upsetting material is activism, and neither seems healthy in the long run.
