Echoes of Wisdom, Part Four

Yesterday evening I was thinking about how much I love Echoes of Wisdom, so I started a new game.

The initial problem I had with Echoes of Wisdom is that the first two hours can be rough. Thankfully, I think Nintendo might have added some quality-of-life updates in a patch. Here are three big changes:

- Either enemy hit boxes are slightly larger, or auto-aiming is slightly better. In other words, if Zelda throws a rock in the direction of an enemy, it will now hit the enemy.

- Low-level enemies now drop rupees. This means that Zelda isn't financially destitute (and thus unable to afford healing potions) at the start of the game.

- Pots and bushes now drop hearts and other healing items (like apples) at a much higher rate.

There are other minor updates, such as Zelda casting a shadow when she swims so you can see where she'll dive, and they're all very much appreciated.

I don't think Echoes of Wisdom is supposed to be a difficult game, so it's nice to have these artificial barriers lifted.
