2021 Goals

I just told a friend to "follow their heart" when it comes to real estate. I understand that this seems abstract and overly sentimental, but I was dead serious. In fact, I was so serious that I think I should probably follow my own advice.

My dream is to move to the country and start a combination puppy farm + fungus-based organic body disposal service. If "the country" doesn't work out, then I will settle for Cleveland, where I hear you can buy a house for the price of a VCR. I will use this as a front for my actual work, which will involve writing monster romance and Legend of Zelda fanfiction.

I have written and been rejected for so many grants during the past five years that I think I'd like to write a grant for this. Specially, I'm going to write a grant for the National Endowment for the Humanities.

You may think I'm joking, but let me assure you, I'm absolutely not.

💕💕💕💕💕

I am in absolute love with this dream of yours and I hope it comes true. My boyfriend and I are starting to veer towards something similar. If I'm going to become the local hedge witch cryptid, I need that lil' house in the middle of the woods and away from fucking people.

Yo as someone with anxiety and probably ADD and also definitely getting old, FUCK NOISE. I've always been super sensitive to sounds, but I swear it's getting worse. There's only so much ambient music and noise-canceling headphones can do. And as much as I feel a lot of my basic needs would be met in closer proximity to a city/urban area (and also feel safer being in public as a queer person), my soul belongs in the middle of nowhere.

Also, what the fresh fuck do people with massive houses with 4+ bedrooms??? I just want something small and cute and covered in vines and with more animal neighbors than human neighbors, yet all I can find currently for the middle of the woods homes in Mass are obscenely huge in size and price. Or I'd need to move to Western Mass and have a 2+ hour commute.

Sigh. I hate it.
