Deltarune Chapter 3

After two weeks, I finally finished Chapter 3 of Deltarune. It will probably surprise no one to learn that I got really into the secret Zelda-style minigames that you can access by getting an S-Rank on the first two sections of the main story. That hole was made for me.

Here's how you know I'm enjoying the game: (a) I'm writing an essay about Chapter 3's theme of "having fun" for Sidequest, and (b) I'm writing toxic old man yaoi about Tenna and Spamton.

I'm clapping and cheering for ALL of this. I still need to go back and replay chapter 3 to do all the S-Rank stuff (I only got it in round 2 and didn't bother buying my S-Rank jskfjdlkfa mistakes were made), but yeah. Damn. Chapter 3 is so fucking good.

And while I'm not like... shipping them? I guess?? (when everyone was dryhumping Spamton in 2021, I was too busy kissing Queen's feet jskdfjslkaf) I do find whatever the fuck is going on with Tenna and Spamtom and their insanely messy divorce really fascinating. That needs to be shoved in a blender on max and studied under a microscope. All this to say I will be SEATED for your fic.

(also yes, yes I also wonder why. my bf is also wondering why, but at least he's humoring my CRT questions... for the sake of smut)

Sorry adding onto this, but I remember a couple years back you made a quick post about "how to do numbers on AO3" that was like, write popular characters, make it spicy, and have at least one guy involved and you were absolutely onto something bc my damn Mettaton/Tenna fic has existed for a week and is rocketing into the all-time top five numbers for multiple AO3 stats. I've genuinely never seen anything like it in my 10 years of being on this bullshit. Anyhow, what I'm trying to say is I hope your toxic old man yaoi also does numbers bc damn that really is the formula, isn't it

I just finished my story, and I consider it three hours of my life well spent. It would be nice if it does numbers, but who can say. If no one else is reads it, then I know at least Satan will read it. Because if there was ever a story that is going to get me sent to hell,

OKAY WELL. I'm happy to hear that I'm not the only person who is suddenly curious about whether a CRT is flexible or rigid. I ended up not using this in my story, but at least now I know the answer. 🙃

I don't really ship these two characters either tbh. I don't want to write novels about them or see them get a happy ending. I just want to watch in glee while they bite each other's dicks off.

I didn't write a full response to your comment about how Toby Fox has the right idea re: staying the fuck offline, but I've been spending a lot of time thinking about the relationship between audience and creative expression while playing Chapter 3. I personally don't want to be perceived by anyone, but I still understand where Tenna is coming from. He's a fun Tumblr Sexyman, sure, but he's also compelling both as a character and as a platonic concept. And this makes me want to poke at him and see what happens.

But also. Man. The lore on whatever is going on with Tenna (and possibly Spamton) is deep. I'm starting to feel the same sort of awe for Tenna that I felt for Alphys in Undertale; like, how deep does this rabbit hole actually go?

I ended up ignoring all of the lore while writing. Instead I asked the real questions. Such as whether CRTs are flexible or rigid.

YES! YESYESYES! The more I think of him, the more I'm blown away by the everything. Holy shit, what a guy.
