Dispatches from My Southern Gothic Childhood

I wrote a long angry rant about my family, but I decided not to post it. Here is the gist:

My family lives in a small, semi-rural community in Butts County, Georgia. This is a real place; here is its Wikipedia page.

Butts County is its own special world, and it is filled with crazy special people. When I tell people from the outside world about my family, they don't believe my stories.

Conversely, when I tell my family about my life in the outside world, they also don't believe me.

This creates problems. It's annoying.
