This is what I did yesterday:

- I edited chapters six, seven, and eight of the "On Calmer Tides" fic, and I posted the sixth chapter to FFN. I would like to tell myself that I'm cleaning up the story because people are more likely to read fic over holiday breaks, but the truth is that spikes in metrics like hits and kudos occur completely at random (at least on my stories, ymmv).

- FOOD.

- The people I had over for Thanksgiving are Husbando, Husbando's divorced friend, Husbando's divorced friend's two daughters, Fabulous Power Husbands, and Fabulous Power Husbands' adopted daughter – so that's four grown-ass men and three tween girls. After lunch, we had fun with Mario Party 10 for about an hour, but then we got really into Oxenfree. It was nice to see that the game has such a strong crossover appeal between ten-year-old girls and forty-year-old men.

- I shoved everyone into the Honda Fit (it's called a Honda "Fit" for a reason), we drove to GF's house to kidnap her from her family, and then we all went to see Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I was expecting some combination of steampunk, magic, and dragons, and I came home happy. Since this movie was more or less tailor-made to my interests, I'm not sure if it was actually good, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

-MOAR FOOD.

- Coffee.

- I got started on the ninth chapter of "On Calmer Tides." This is the penultimate chapter of the story, and I've set it up to be a huge confrontation between Ganondorf and Daphnes in which both of them finally reveal how terrible and broken they are.

- Inspired by someone's illustration of Ocarina of Time Ganondorf (link), I wrote almost a thousand words of meta (link) about him. The post only got a handful of notes, which is disappointing, but the actual act of putting my thoughts into words felt clean and pure and radiant, so I won't complain too much at the lack of positive reception.

- I wrote about seven hundred words of a Wind Waker meta essay about Daphnes. I've been planning this for a week now, and I'm finally getting started because I got a series of anonymous messages berating me for a silly shitpost (link) in which I accused the character of being a murderboat grandpa. As I said in a response to one of these messages (link), I'm not working too hard on this essay because I know it will get zero notes. I mean, I understand that some people vomit words, but for me there's a steep opportunity cost. If I write one thing, that means that something else isn't getting written.

- Speaking of opportunity costs and things not getting written, I really need to get back to my actual work today.
