2017 Weekly Writing Log, Part 39
Oct. 30th, 2017 09:55 am- After translating it into Arabic and Hebrew, I sent in an abstract for a talk I'm scheduled to give in May at Hebrew University. I accepted the invitation under the condition that I could geek out about Legend of Zelda, so I'm going to be presenting about Orientalized technophobia in Breath of the Wild and a few other recent postapocalyptic sci-fi titles from Japan.
- I posted Chapter Fifteen of The Legend of the Princess. One of the nice things about no one reading this story is that I don't feel guilty for taking an extra week to edit a chapter before I post it. There is finally starting to be some solid character development, so I've been watching cutscenes and reading wiki entries to make sure that my interpretation of Zelda is not becoming too terribly OOC. Probably no one cares, BUT I CARE.
- Someone sent me a nice message about Legend of the Princess on Tumblr, and I replied with a Chibi Ganondorf. I have never drawn a chibi before, and it looks a little weird, but whatever. Drawing an evil bara wizard with huge eyes and flower crowns is what has been making me happy these past few weeks, and I take my joy where I can find it.
- I completely recolored that shitty Peach/Bowser comicwhat is wrong with me.
- I did not open InDesign even once because it is scary and change scares me.
- I am so behind on everything oh god oh god oh god.
