Weekly Writing Log, Part 42
Nov. 20th, 2017 02:11 pm- I wrote and edited and posted the fifth chapter of The Price of Wisdom. It's a good chapter – and it's actually a fairly decent story! – but it doesn't matter because no one will read it. I am so depressed haha...
- I put up a new guest post on my professional blog. The person who wrote it didn't retweet my tweet with the link to the post because he's the sort of Woke Liberal Man™ who is all about Feminism but would not promote an actual woman on Twitter even if she paid him to write for her blog. Sigh.
- I submitted a substantial book review for publication, but the way these things work is that no one will see it for months... so it's kind of like I didn't do anything at all. Fun times!
- The journal that's going to publish the novella I translated won't pay the $500 fee requested by the author's agent (even though this is a ridiculously small amount of money for a license for such an internationally famous author), so I paid it out of my own savings and then cried a little because I had intended to use that money to buy a Nintendo Switch.
- I drew another three-hour comic. It's garbage, but I posted it anyway. I have a lot of ideas but close to zero artistic ability, and I think it's about time I owned up to and accepted my lack of talent. I'm not going to get any notes anyway, so there's no reason to spend time on these comics. I care more about my writing than I probably should, but these are just for fun, right?
- I commissioned Daryl Toh to draw an epic oceanscape with Ganondorf and the Tower of the Gods, and oh my goodness did he ever. This is actually from a few weeks ago, but it's still making me very happy.
