2019 Weekly Writing Log, Part Fourteen
Dec. 14th, 2019 05:58 pm- My editor at Palgrave gave me a long list of small formatting edits on my book manuscript, so I took care of that. I also put together a perfunctory index. Does anyone still use indices?
- I submitted all my grades for this semester, and I was able to write the students short and supportive emails about their work. As much as I bitch and moan, they’re all good kids.
- I submitted the final copies of my Spring 2020 semester syllabi to the university. These are both classes that I created from scratch, and I’m excited to teach them.
- I was invited to give a talk at the Walters Museum in Baltimore, and I submitted all the material for that.
- I was also invited to give a talk at the University of Notre Dame, and I submitted all the material for that as well.
- I posted this month’s book review to my professional blog. I’m working on a second review of another book by the same author, and I’d like to be able to post it next weekend.
- I got the translation zines from the printer, so I promoted them on social media and sent out copies to everyone who expressed interest.
- I also made small-run reprints of my other zines and put them on Etsy. I spent some time polishing the listings and the storefront itself, which is still a work in progress.
- I posted Chapter 20 of Malice!
- Vhyrel finished the cover illustration for the story, and it is beyond gorgeous.
- After going back and forth on the story I submitted to the Ganondorf zine, I finally sat down and expanded it to about 4,000 words. It could still use a bit of polish, but what needs to be there for the December 15 submission deadline is done.
- I finally, finally finished the illustration and comic I’m submitting to the Ganondorf zine. I think this is probably my best work, and I’m happy I had the opportunity to push myself.
This week was intense, and I have even more deadlines next week. Please wish me luck!
