Re: Demon King Reboot
Jul. 27th, 2021 10:24 amActually, you know what. This is a garbage idea.
I sat down yesterday afternoon and wrote a forty-chapter outline, and I hated it. It’s a decent story, I guess, but it’s not the story I want to tell. It’s generic as fuck, to be honest.
I think I’m going to keep going in the same direction, but with a few alterations.
Mainly, I’m going to start thinking of this project as one novel instead of a series of five novellas. This means that, while the first story arc can stand on its own at 30k words, the next four arcs will be around 20k words. Also, I’m going to make it clear what’s going on in the second arc instead of gradually letting environmental plot details spool out. Most importantly, I’ll make it clear that Ananth’s name isn’t actually Balthazar, that Ceres is facing a serious political threat from a large federation to the north, and that there’s time travel involved.
In any case, I’m going to keep the working title as "The Demon King" for the time being.
