The Only Defense News I Care About

A bunny has recently made it inside of the Pentagon’s inner courtyard - arguably one of the most secure locations on the planet, surrounded on all sides by over 100 yards of highly-guarded office building and sitting on top of at least two stories of concrete basements.

Given that it is outdoors and has plenty of trees and people eating meals, the courtyard is naturally a hangout spot for birds, which can simply fly in. It’s unclear how a bunny would have hopped into a place surrounded by five rings of some of the most secure office space on earth, though there are some theories.
The Pentagon isn't exactly remote. Anyone can use those giant parking lots, and in fact I sometimes used to park there and take the train to work if the I-66 was congested. There's a nice jogging trail on one side of the parking lot, and a mall on the other side. When I was going stir-crazy during the first few months of the pandemic, I used to get take-out from the California Pizza Kitchen there.
I'm not sure how a rabbit could get into the inner courtyard, though. That's impressive.
