Re: Year Walk
Dec. 20th, 2023 07:49 amYear Walk has a constant strobe effect that I think is meant to emulate the feeling of light passing through snowfall. Unfortunately, you can't turn this off. I looked at this game for four minutes, and it gave me a severe headache for half an hour. Just thinking about it makes my eyes hurt.
Thankfully, there's a free companion app (here) that's like an illustrated notebook with information about the creatures that appear in the game. If you enter the passcode "1894" - as provided in the illustrated walkthrough (here) - you'll gain access to a diary of sorts that has a bit of a House of Leaves vibe. This companion app is nothing substantial, but it's well-written and attractively presented. And again, it's free!
