I stopped using the NaNoWriMo forums last year because 85% of the posts were literally people making posts that made me wonder how they got far enough into the Internet to not know this shit. And furthermore, it worries me how they get by in life in general.
Also cackled at your "random children with anime avatars" comment, because literally the other day when I changed my Tumblr icon to Tifa, I contemplated going to like a Sailor Moon or Utena character once my VII squee subsided and then was like, "Oh wait, no, then I'd be That Person" and moved on with my life. I'm glad I'm not the only person who feels this.
