If I'm going to become the local hedge witch cryptid, I need that lil' house in the middle of the woods and away from fucking people.

This might be my anxiety, and it might be my ADD, and it might be me getting old, but
(it's probably the stress of the pandemic)
I'm starting to become extremely sensitive to noise. It's gotten difficult for me to get into a focused headspace for writing, and sometimes I think I would do anything for half an hour of uninterrupted silence without sirens or car horns or screaming children. I have white noise playlists and noise-canceling headphones, but still. Imagine sitting outside on your back porch in the evening with nothing but the sounds of frogs and crickets.
A best-case scenario for me would be southern Georgia or northern Florida, where the weather is warm and land prices, maintenance costs, and homeowner taxes are about as low as they get in this country, but I'm also seriously considering moving to Delaware, which is small but surprisingly rural.
Intellectually I understand that the aesthetic of "cottagecore" is problematic, but I just can't deny the appeal of having a small murder house out in the woods.
