Why Molokai, With All Its Wonders, Is the Least Developed of Hawai'i's Islands

Man, it sure would be a shame if a certain tech billionaire bought property on a remote Hawaiian island and was eaten by ghosts. Someone should really write a story about that.

Honestly I think he should just buy Mme LaLaurie's mansion. (CW so many historical things about a terrible slave owner in New Orleans.)

OH BOY I GOT LOTS OF NICOLAS CAGE STORIES WHILE I WAS THERE

So yes, he did buy that house! One of the ghost tours I was on mentioned that anyone who lives in the house tends to have Bad Things happen within two years of buying it, and indeed, within 2 years of buying That House was the whole thing where Cage decided to be an abusive drunk fucko in public. (The guy who bought it after him was a British Petroleum exec who still owns it, and has the good sense not to actually live in it, but apparently within 2 years of purchase was when Deepwater Horizon happened, so I'm not saying the land is cursed but I am not NOT saying that.)

Anyway, post drunken arrest, Cage apparently asked a medium what he needed to do to get uncursed and was told he needed to be buried in hallowed ground in New Orleans, so he has a very fancy marble tomb in one of the historic cemeteries--inscribed with text from National Treasure, no less--and because women keep kissing it and leaving gifts and stuff there, he has to pay monthly for it to be cleaned. but note he's not actually dead, so presumably he's still haunted.

imagine you built yourself a huge marble tomb and women keep leaving lipstick prints all over it. (I mean, maybe men too, I do not judge people's cosmetic choices, but I do judge the tomb kissing.)

New Orleans is just full of hilarious stories, ngl. I'm sure two-thirds of them were made up, but there's a consistent city mythology and I love it. This kind of dramatic shit is exactly why I was a history major.
