- I finished an edit of Chapter 8 of The Demon King and posted it on AO3 (here). I had to cut a fair bit of content from this chapter to make it work, but the process went smoothly.

- I also finished an edit of Chapter 9 and posted it (here). This chapter marks the end of the original novella I posted on AO3 back in the day. I like to think it’s a satisfying conclusion to the first arc of the story.

- I also posted Chapter 10 (here). I wrote the first draft of this chapter a year ago, and I ended up cutting about 1,500 words. I think it’s better now, but I also think it would be better if someone else wrote it. This chapter has a lot of potential, but I don’t know how to bring out that potential and make it as good as it should be. What can you do except keep going?

- I started writing a short series of video game travelogue essays called “The Best Wells in Tears of the Kingdom,” which I’m posting on AO3 (here). This is an extremely niche genre of writing, but I’m enjoying myself.

- I’m continuing to line-edit the stories in my upcoming zine, Terrible People. One of the guest artists sent me the final draft of an illustration, and it’s beyond gorgeous. The cover is also very close to being done!

- I wrote a review of Kyoko Okazaki’s graphic novel River’s Edge, which I submitted to the manga editor at Women Write About Comics. I actually got a digital advance review copy of this back in early May, but the file had the crustiest resolution I’d ever seen, and it was covered in watermarks. I therefore had to wait until I could buy the actual book before writing a review, but it’s an incredible manga.

- I also wrote a review of a dark fantasy Game Boy adventure game called Soul Void, which is free to play on Itchio (here). Soul Void is also an amazing piece of work, and hopefully my review will appear on Sidequest soon!

- I collected the pages of my “Seeded Ground” minicomic into a digital zine that I posted on Itchio (here). I drew a title page for the zine, which I posted on Tumblr (here). It’s nice to know I can create a simple minicomic zine in six weeks, and I’m glad I did this.

It’s probably best not to dwell on this sort of unpleasantness, but I had a few serious panic attacks during the past two weeks that really messed me up. I got better as soon as I removed myself from the situation that was provoking my anxiety. Now I’m okay and back to living my best and freshest summertime life.
