Perhaps this isn't chief among life's pleasures, but it's still extremely nice to be the first person to leave a string of positive reviews on an artist's Etsy shop. It's also nice to come back half a year later and see that their shop is thriving. I feel like I'm starting to get too old for anime conventions (which have become more noisy and crowded with each passing year), but damn if I don't get some of that same anime con thrill when stickers and prints and zines arrive in the mail.
And speaking of which, what a marvel it is that you can send money to someone and they give you a drawing in return. What an absolute miracle on this earth. I don't mean to come off like I'm high on life, but so many things could go wrong with buying and commissioning art, and it's amazing that they almost never do. If nothing else, I'm grateful that this one utopian aspect of the internet is still going strong, even as everything else burns.
