2025 Writing Log, Part Three

- I wrote the third chapter of “What Dreams May Come,” a Legend of Zelda x Bloodborne crossover.
- I also started a new game of Bloodborne. This character’s name is Waffle House.
- I finished the first chapter of “The Last Green Knight,” a big bang fic overlaying The Legend of Zelda with Arthurian legend. I’m being very attentive to this story and putting a lot of love and care into research and language, so it’s slow going, but I should be finished by the deadline in May. Signups for this pan-fandom big bang event are open until February 7, and you can find more information on their page (here) if you’re interested.
- I started writing an original horror-themed story about a neglected cat suffering from a hanahaki disease that causes him to cough up nightshade flowers. The cat is feeling neglected because his human just brought home a baby, and you’ll never guess how the cat handles this new "problem."
- I finished the third section (out of five) of my essay about analog nostalgia.
- This week’s post on my book review blog (here) is a substantial analytical review of Kamimachi, a two-volume graphic novel drawn by one of the most interesting manga artists of the past decade, Kyo Machiko. Fingers crossed that her work will be translated into English one day.
- I got started on a drawing of Ganondorf being slutty (affectionate) but stopped because it’s way too silly. I’ll pick it back up eventually.
- In the meantime, I did the linework for the first panel of a three-panel comic about Echoes of Wisdom.
The spring semester came around this week and dropkicked me right in the face. This always happens. I should be used to it by now, but alas.
