2025 Writing Log, Part Five
Feb. 2nd, 2025 09:25 am- I continued work on the second chapter of “The Last Green Knight,” a Zelda x Arthurian legend crossover fic that I’m writing for a pan-fandom big bang event (here). The Discord server is very chill and supportive, and sign-ups are open until February 7.
- I did a substantial edit of “Belladonna,” an original botanical horror story that I wrote for the server’s April “Hanahaki for Hanami” event (here).
- I also created an illustration of a moss-infested cat for this story. I’ll use this for the social media preview graphic when the time comes, but I went ahead and posted it on Tumblr (here).
- I finished my listicle about video game sewers, pitched it to Sidequest, and got the go-ahead to submit the manuscript. Based on my research, I'm given to understand that most people hate sewer levels, but hopefully I was able to explain why I find them so interesting.
- This week’s post on my book review blog (here) is about Strange Pictures, a horror mystery novel written by a mysterious masked YouTuber who creates viral creepypasta videos. Like the author’s videos, Strange Pictures has a strong DIY vibe, and I mean this in the best possible way. The book is very crunchy and very entertaining.
- I posted a silly comic about Echoes of Wisdom on Tumblr (here). Unfortunately, Zelda can’t actually summon the echoes of defeated bosses, but I think it would be neat if she could deploy an echo of Ganon. It’s always amusing to think about a 12yo girl unleashing an ancient eldritch monster so they can go out on a walk together.
This was yet another shit week on hell planet. I am not okay, but what can you do. If nothing else, the sun has finally started to set after 5pm, which is cause for celebration as far as I’m concerned.
