Being a little hater about movies

No hate here. This movie is fantastic. I don't even know how to describe it, save to say that it's what Wes Anderson would be like if he weren't so busy sucking his own dick. Highly recommended (and definitely not for children).
Now for some salt on Nosferatu, Wild Robot, and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
Nosferatu
Not as good as I remembered. Kind of cringe, honestly. I found myself skipping ahead to the Willem Dafoe scenes, which still bring me immense joy. If I had a computer that were capable of running more than MS Word, I'd gladly edit a 45m version of this movie that's just Willem Dafoe and Ralph Ineson being incompetent supernatural detectives.
Wild Robot
I want to say that I would have loved this movie if it weren't written for small children. But I think it's more accurate to say that I would have enjoyed this movie more if it weren't so fucking condescending. My Neighbor Totoro was written for small children, and it manages to get its message across just fine without having to remind the viewer every five minutes that Family Is Important™.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
I didn't hate it, but there's also nothing particularly memorable about it. All of the elements of this movie that people describe as "clever" and "subversive" have already been done a million times in a million podcasts and webcomics. None of the character lines stand out, and (once again) I dislike the style of writing that has to remind the viewer every five minutes that Family Is Important™. Still, like I said, I didn't hate it. It was fun.
Despite me using this post to be a hater, I want to say that my actual opinion is that it would make me very happy to see more mediocre fantasy movies in the world.
