I took this photo in Wissahickon Valley Park, which is technically inside the Philadelphia city limits. Back in the colonial days, a group of insane German Protestants moved to Philadelphia specifically for the purpose of living in the woods. While the city developed around them, they managed to keep their little patch of forest mostly untouched.
To celebrate my tiny Pomeranian puppy's German heritage, I let her off leash on the trail. She picked up 410,757,864,530 ticks 🫠but I myself feel very refreshed. The Woods™: You Should Definitely Go In Them
