For Black Friday I got myself a sun lamp (this one here), and it changed my life in less than an hour. Holy shit. Amazing.

I saw someone on Bluesky describe Ghost Trick as "what if a person who was really good at making games really loved his Pomeranian," so I downloaded it from Steam. I'm not good at puzzle games, but I will use a walkthrough like a boss. Like a boss who really loves his Pomeranian.

The yen is relatively weak right now, so I bought a "like new" copy of the official Japanese strategy guide for the Final Fantasy IV DS remake. I had a lot of fun with FFVI in 2025, and one of my resolutions for 2026 is to rediscover my love for FFIV by being an insane completionist. I read on the internet that if you get all the secret summons you can watch Golbez ride Kain Highwind like a bicycle. Sounds legit. Let's go!

I also donated money to a local animal shelter and a local human shelter, as well as to AO3 (so people can post porn) and Wikipedia (so people can do research for the porn they post). I continue to be a broke-ass bitch, but every once in a while it's nice to cosplay as someone with money to throw around.

Ghost Trick is still on my to-do list (feel like it has been forever lol) and I hope you enjoy it! I've heard nothing but excellent things about it.

Also have a blast revisiting FFIV!! I loved replaying the DS remake earlier this year. It's such a phenomenal game and really does establish the blueprint for the rest of the series imo.

Ghost Trick is fun! but also very goofy. I think I might need to alternate it with Dispatch, which I'm going to start playing tonight. I downloaded it literally less than a minute after I read your recommendation, but then I got sidetracked. But then! I saw (this fan art) on Tumblr, and I realized that I need this game in my life immediately.

...but yeah, depression is tough. It's partially somatic, sure; but also, the world is in a weird place right now. The lack of daylight isn't helping. I am eternally grateful for the sun lamp recommendation.

And, as much as I need sunlight, I also need to read some good game writing. Maybe that won't fix me, but it helps.

I played the first two chapters last night, and I am so in love. If anything happens to Missile I am going to cry literal buckets. (I am vaguely given to understand that time travel?? things happen to Missile, and I am fully prepared to cry.)

I played the first two chapters, and oh my goodness. You are correct. This game is SO good. I'm charmed by the art and writing, and I'm in love with the mechanics. When I looked ahead on the walkthrough and saw that there are sixteen more chapters, it's like I could hear angels singing.
