Due to a combination of character builds that turned out to be extremely successful, my main adventuring party in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age consists of...

- An experienced high-ranking military official who was disgraced after becoming the scapegoat of international political intrigue but who is still loyal to his kingdom and fights valiantly to restore the princess to the throne

- A brilliant scientist who was once one of the highest ranking military officials of a continent-spanning empire but is currently posing as a sky pirate in order to investigate the discovery and misuse of a potentially world-destroying set of magical artifacts

- A random sixteen-year-old girl

I wish I could come up with a better description for Penelo, but like, that's just who she is... even despite being a very well-written random sixteen-year-old girl who is clearly important to the plot and crucial to the party dynamic. And it doesn't hurt that her base stats are incredible!

When I went through Zodiac Age last year, my group comp was almost these three, too, but my boyfriend and I opted to have Ashe over Balthier. But yeah. Random sixteen-year-old has some crazy magic stats. She's a beast.

She is though!! I used a Shikari+White Mage build for Penelo, a Monk+Black Mage build for Fran, and an Archer+Uhlan build for Ashe, and between the three of them no boss fight or mark hunt has lasted for more than sixty seconds.

My main group was knight/samurai Ashe, white mage/time(green?) mage Penelo, and Breaker/Monk Basch. I just remember an accidentally berserked Ashe with excalibur beating up Zodiark in like, 10 seconds. She was a beast. So was Penelo. Basch kind of tagged along for the ride.
