What I really want to do is write a lot, every single day.

But this is going to happen whether I want it to or not. It's kind of a problem tbh.

Writing is how I pay the rent, and that's nice I guess, but I am greedy and also want attention on the internet. I am a neurotic narcissist, and writing doesn't satiate my desire to get more than five notes on something I poured my entire soul into for several weeks of my life. I genuinely enjoy drawing, but I also can't shake the unreasonable expectation that "art" is going to get the reception my writing doesn't, and that creates a certain level of pressure that results in all sorts of problems that exist only inside my head.

The biggest of moods. 100% feel ya

I also feel like this seems to be a trend in bigger and newer fandoms, too. I tend to get more interaction on my fics for older fandoms. I don't know if it's because we're all old and remember ye olde times of FFN and LJ or whatever, but it makes me wonder if the lack of comments is also a generational thing.

It might very well be! Or it might just be that it's harder to get noticed? I don't know.
