- I posted the fifteenth chapter of my ongoing Zelda/Ganondorf story, Malice. This fic is very silly and self-indulgent, and I’m having a lot of fun with it. I could have posted the sixteenth chapter as well, but I decided to sit on it for another few days. It’s nice to write at my own pace and not feel as if I have to finish a chapter every weekend.

- I also ended up posting the next short story in A Hero’s Inventory. This one ended up becoming much longer than I expected, and I had to cut the wordcount almost in half before I was satisfied.

- I posted a new review on my book review blog, as well as a condensed version on Goodreads. I’ve been working on this review since April, so it felt good to go ahead and finish it. I also edited another review from 2018 and posted an abbreviated version on Goodreads. I’m surprised by how much my writing style has changed in the past year.

- I edited and formatted the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth pages of the zine with my translation of Hiromi Kawakami’s short story “Summer Break.”

- I had a few stickers and bookmarks left over from the DC Zinefest this past summer, and I finally finished putting up all the listings on Etsy. I’m not doing anything to promote myself right now, but I think it’s probably good to have an established presence on the site if I ever do get serious about it. I’ve made about seventy sales since I set up the store, which is a manageable level of activity for me.

- I posted the fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh panels of my comic about Link’s Awakening. I feel bad about taking so long to get started on this project, because I’m really enjoying myself.

- I finished the line art for the two comics I’m submitting to the Ganondorf zine. I’m going to try a few new coloring techniques for these, including lineless background art. Now that the time-consuming and anxiety-inducing part is over and done with, I’m looking forward to having fun with these pieces.

- Over the summer I collaborated with Mushroomstairs on a five-panel comic about the girl from The Ring being a ghost friend that comes to visit through the television screen. Now that it’s Halloween season, we decided it was time to post the comic, and it’s received a decent reception. This makes me very happy for the artist, who draws beautiful creepy girlfriends, handsome devil husbands, and gorgeous nonbinary monsters. She’s still relatively young, and I’m looking forward to seeing where her career leads her.

I still feel like hot garbage about my creative work, especially since I had to deal with someone going out of their way to be nasty about me and my writing this week. I know they did it because there’s something wrong with them, but their behavior still triggered my insecurities. Haters gonna hate, and the only thing to do is to keep going. One week at a time, friends, one week at a time.
