2019 Weekly Writing Log, Part Eight
Nov. 3rd, 2019 07:20 pmI spent some quality time with the Ganondorf zine this weekend. I enjoyed myself, but the work took a lot out of me. That aside, this is what I managed to accomplish this week:
- I put Chapter 17 of Malice through another set of edits and posted it on FFN.
- I’m still working on Chapter 18 and Chapter 19. I’m in a weird position where Chapter 19 is about 3,000 words while Chapter 18 is only 700. I should probably focus on Chapter 18 during the coming week.
- I managed to reply to all but a few comments on AO3. I appreciate reader comments so so so much, and I always seem to end up writing long responses. I’m trying to get better about this.
- I finished editing the Twilight Princess essay, and I’ve scheduled it to be posted on Tumblr this evening. It’s a bit political, and I hope it doesn’t cause trouble.
- I got a surprising number of Etsy orders for stickers this week, and I sent them all out with small ink doodles. This was super fun! Posting art on social media can be hit or miss, but it makes me happy to think that someone will open a physical piece of mail from me and be pleasantly surprised by the extra care and attention.
- I posted a bunch of zine reviews on Etsy. What I appreciate about reviews on Etsy is that, unlike AO3, there’s no pressure for them to be detailed or to seem smart or anything like that. I also get to enjoy the feeling that I’m helping independent creators maintain their livelihood (if only in a small way), which adds a nice serotonin boost.
As always, I am very slow with everything I do. I made a marginal amount of progress on a few projects this week, but it was also important for me to take a short break in order to spend time with friends. I hope everyone who is participating in Nanowrimo this year is filled with lots of good ideas and compelling inspiration along with an entire month’s worth of positive energy!
