Welcome Back to Weekend Deadline Torture Helltime

I had another two speaking events this past week, but I made it through. The feedback seemed to be positive, and if it wasn’t then the event organizers had the good sense not to tell me.

I think it’s probably okay to admit that I have horrible Zoom anxiety, and there’s no need to unpack that. Everyone hates Zoom, and I’m just a sensitive and delicate flower who has to feel everything much more strongly than most people. I wish I weren’t like this, but what can you do.

Prep work and anxiety wrecked me this past week, and now I have two deadlines this weekend that I get to have more anxiety about. Sometimes I wish I were a religious person so that I could pray for divine assistance, because I’m not sure if I can make either of these deadlines by my own power. I’ll do my best, I guess, and hope that the editors don’t think too poorly of the work I submit.

Next week I’m going to finish the last chapter of The Demon King, as well as a Demon King comic that I’ve had in my Drafts folder since December. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to finish this. I really enjoy working on The Demon King, but it’s just, everything happens so much.

As for "yuri" being considered a problematic word, people can go fuck themselves.

I wouldn't say that I'm friends with Erica Friedman, as we've never actually met in person, but we've been friendly mutuals on social media for about ten years now. Erica runs the yuri blog Okazu, which is (among other things) a celebration of manga about middle-school and high-school girls kissing each other, sometimes in a sexually explicit way. It seems as though this blog would raise all the Tumblr discourse flags, but Erica has remained completely unaffected because (a) she doesn't give a shit about Tumblr, and (b) she doesn't give a shit about inane bullshit in general.

And damn if that isn't #goals.
