The Adventures of Peaches, Part Two
Jul. 19th, 2022 07:57 amPeaches could not ride his horse(?) to Windmill Village, which is currently inaccessible on a late-game plateau surrounded by sheer cliffs. My plan of mass murder has been forestalled.
Peaches did manage to ride everywhere else, so now I have a sense of how big the map is. And it's not that bad! I was thinking that Elden Ring would be as large as Breath of the Wild, but it's much smaller. There are really only four main areas (plus an optional underground area and an optional late-game snowy area), and each of them only has one big dungeon and maybe a dozen or so baby dungeons. I know this because I got tired of running around aimlessly and decided to use an online interactive checklist map.
I found a good article (here) about decent rune farming areas. Peaches spent about half an hour in front of the Bestial Sanctum in the mid-game Caelid area getting to Level 35, which was a good level to tackle the mini-dungeons in the opening Limgrave area. It turns out that Elden Ring is much more enjoyable if everything doesn't kill you with one hit.
This evening Peaches is going to slay the giant white dragon mentioned in the article, which apparently won't attack him and isn't actually hurting anyone. Even though the dragon is clearly sick and suffering, it seems a shame to kill her, but I am very bad at Elden Ring and need to take what it gives me. I want to explore the wizard school!!
