An accidental poem about nursing things that should no longer remain.
This is a sweet game about accepting the death of someone you love, a theme subtly expressed through metaphor and gameplay. To spoil it a little, there’s a gameplay loop used to excellent effect.
Close the Window, My Love is a very short and simple game, and I’m glad it exists in the world. I’m definitely going to check out more of the creator’s work, as well as the other submissions to the game jam, which is part of an ongoing series celebrating a simple dev tool called Bitsy: http://www.bitsy.org/
Another entry that caught my attention is: https://eternighost.itch.io/spider-hiding-in-the-corner
I have a handful of small “interactive fiction” ideas that I’d love to try out, but I’m overwhelmed by development suites and not a huge fan of Twine. Maybe it might be worth experimenting with Bitsy over the winter break.
