Recently, under a publication announcement post on Twitter, I saw someone congratulate the artist, saying, “I know how hard you worked for this.” That really touched me. I generally don’t make a big deal out of how hard I work, mainly because normies tend to see a string of (professionally inevitable) rejections and assume that you’re a failure as a creator. But I think, maybe this year, I’m going to start being more open about all my submissions and rejections. When I finally succeed, I’d like for someone to say to me, “I know how hard you worked for this.”
