Ender Magnolia, Early Access

Last week, I played an early access version of Ender Magnolia, which includes about three and a half hours of content. So far, I really like what I see.

I know I keep comparing Ender Magnolia to Ender Lilies, but it’s not necessary to be familiar with Ender Lilies to enjoy and appreciate what’s going on in Ender Magnolia. In fact, I’d say that Ender Magnolia is much, much more accessible to newcomers, at least based on what I’ve seen so far.

Meanwhile if you, like me, have done multiple completionist playthroughs of Ender Lilies, Ender Magnolia still feels fresh. It’s significantly different than its predecessor in ways that are fun and interesting and not just new for the sake of change.

I’m really excited about Ender Magnolia. To put this in the strongest terms I possibly can, I bought a Steam Deck just to play this game on early access, and I have zero regrets.

Also, and perhaps most importantly: Not only can you pet the big fluffy robot zombie dog, but he also serves as your method of fast travel. What a good boy!! And did I mention that your main companion is a sword lesbian, truly Yuri Jesus died for my sins so that I may live in eternal joy forever amen.

Good lord this is complicated. So basically, you have to download Steam to your computer, and then upload a screenshot to the public server from the Steam Deck, and then go back to the Steam app on your computer, and then open the image on the Steam website so you can screencap it. Also, you have to close and reopen the Steam app between each screenshot upload. It's a literal twelve-step process.

My laptop can't really handle the Steam app, so I'm going to have to download, install, and then uninstall the program just to get two or three screenshots to use for my Ender Magnolia review. Jesus wept.

To be fair, this is slightly less annoying than what you have to do on Nintendo Switch, which is to post the screenshot publicly on Twitter with the mandatory suggested hashtags.
