I hear you, and I usually respond the same way, but I'm getting to the point where I'm going to scream if I have to unironically type "Ganondorf" one more time.
I've been reading Noelle Stevenson's book The Fire Never Goes Out, which is essentially about how about her fame on Tumblr turned into actual internships and then actual real jobs and book deals. I started thinking about how nice it must be to be in a fandom that a relatively large number of people are involved in and care about, and I wonder if perhaps it's a better use of my time to devote the next month to writing a series of FFVII drabbles.
I'm not exactly sure what "a better use of my time" means in this context, except that I think it would be fun (and might be a good mini-portfolio for any FFVII zines that spring up in the next year). I've never been such a fan of FFVII that I've been inspired to write fic about it, but it might be nice to have a set of stories ready to go when the remake comes out.
