Nothing happened, by the way.

This is just something I've been trying to articulate for about two years now, and it suddenly came to me while I was brushing my teeth in the shower this afternoon.

Idk, I've been thinking a lot about mutual aid networks these days.

I remember a lot of people mentioning "mutual aid networks" during the early days of the pandemic, but no one really explained what a mutual aid network is supposed to be. I think that this was probably because a lot of people who were using the expression don't know what it means, which makes sense, because a pandemic is not the right time to meet new people in your neighborhood.

In any case, a mutual aid network is a collection of people with specialized skills who distribute the products of their labor and expertise to other members of the group, usually by means of a physical location like a co-op or community center.

I was thinking about what I would be able to contribute to a co-op, and I was like, "...wow I sure the fuck don't know."

Then I had the thought that I'm technically a doctor, and that made me laugh.

Honestly? Thank you for writing all these posts. It can be painful to articulate, especially when you live and breathe it; explaining it to people who just don't know is usually like screaming at a wall.

I also don't know what the fuck to contribute to a co-op. I might not be a medical professional or emergency responder or STEM person, but I like to think there's a place for those who just have love and kindness and stuff to give. Maybe? I dunno. But I support you and your awesomeness, so rock on 💕
