Capitalism is all about doing things and being productive. In exactly the same way, most critiques of capitalism are equally about doing things and being productive. To give a classic example, Marx says that workers need to utilize the “muscle power” and “vital force” that have been harnessed by capitalism to overthrow the system.
I would argue that not doing things and not being productive is a valid means of resisting capitalism. In this essay I will
Actually fuck that. I’m not going to write an essay. It defeats the purpose, and also what I’m saying is fairly self-explanatory. A lot of work is important and necessarily, but a lot of it isn’t, and work isn’t a virtue in and of itself.
Anyway, I’ve been looking at a lot of homoerotic Soviet propaganda posters recently, and I don’t think those men were “working” in those fields if you get what I’m saying.
