On one hand, cool.

On the other hand, I don't need another social media profile, especially not one spread across multiple servers. I can barely keep up with Discord as it is. Meanwhile, my approach to Reddit and various other forums is to join with a new account every time I forget the password to the old one because I can't be bothered.

But idk, there are some artists and writers I just really like a lot and will follow anywhere they go. This is why - no joke! - I am still on DeviantArt and actually very happy to be there. Honestly DeviantArt is surprisingly well-curated, friendly, and easy to use these days, but please don't tell anyone.

I tried Mastodon very briefly....sometime pre-plague. I didn't mind it, but I don't think the Twitter-esque model in general is good for me.

(Though someone did point me at a new network called Slow Social that I find kind of conceptually fascinating and am pondering.)

There are a lot of people whom I love dearly but just can't keep up with on social media because they post two dozen times a day. That's a lot for one person, and then you multiply this output by however many people you're following... I wish I could engage with this, but I just can't. It's impossible.

YES! it's the sort of thing I could see myself using if I didn't have Dreamwidth or if I ever feel compelled to establish a wallet-name presence beyond what I have. I like that their focus is relationships not parasociality. (is that even a word?) Anyway, I will be keeping an eye on it.
