The Adventures of Tulip, Part Six

Yesterday evening Tulip explored a swamp, where he was killed by:

- frogs,
- plants,
- tree lizards,
- a moth, and
- accidentally walking backwards off a cliff.

Tulip hasn’t made it out of the swamp yet, but that’s okay. It’s a beautiful swamp.

"accidentally backwards off a cliff" seems to be a really common death in Soulsbourne.

Walking forwards off a cliff is also really common! There are all sorts of things you can fall off and die, including stairs, ladders, windows, and ledges.

This is how you know Dark Souls is a game for adults. Not because of the graphic violence or the punishing difficulty, but because of the open acknowledgment that tripping and falling down some stairs is going to hurt kind of a lot once you get past a certain age.
