- I finally finished Chapter Fifteen of The Demon King. I realized that I needed some visual references for inspiration. I found what I was looking for, and these references helped immensely.
- I wrote the first 3/5 “They Only Come Out at Night,” my Kakariko Village story for the Sheikah zine. Following the Stephen King model, the opening is fairly normcore. I left off right at the point where everything starts to get weird and unpleasant.
- I finished “The Girl in the Screen at the End of the World,” my postapocalyptic Ringu story for a horror movie zine.
- My review of the graphic novel The Greatest Thing was posted on the website Women Write About Comics (here). Huzzah!
- I finished a review of the graphic novel Himawari House and submitted it to my editor. Hooray!
- I used a tutorial from (Olguioo on Instagram) to try out a new colored pencil style line art technique. I posted my test piece on Tumblr (here).
- While I was drawing Legend of Zelda themed potted plants, I also did (this one) in a lineless style. The original sculptor didn’t have their socials listed on Etsy, but they reached out to me on Instagram, which was really cool.
- I’m still working on my Cosmic Horror Hylia comic. I have most of the lines done, and I’m getting there with the colors.
- I might turn this comic into a zine... maybe. I drew two versions of the roadside goddess statues in Breath of the Wild to possibly use for the cover interiors, and I posted them on Tumblr (here).
- I made vinyl stickers to go along with my botanical horror zine. I posted a photo (here) if you’re curious.
- I decided to create an ACEO-sized miniprint of my houseplant postcard design. It turned out well, I think. I also created some houseplant encouragement bullet journal stickers to go with it. I made an Instagram post (here) if you want to see everything, and I also made an Etsy listing for the set (here).
It’s been a rough two weeks. I don’t want to write about everything that happened, but I’m doing better than I was last weekend. I’m starting to think the solution is to leave society entirely and go live in a cave behind a waterfall. Maybe one with some nice moss and mushrooms.
