Daily Sketching for Creative Inspiration
https://www.domestika.org/en/courses/2227-daily-sketching-for-creative-inspiration/

This online art class is $10, and I like both Sorie Kim's work and Sorie Kim's face. As far as online classes go, Domestika is a great platform because (a) it's affordable, (b) the courses don't disappear, and (c) you don't have to navigate any sort of weird Korean video player platform that installs random files directly onto your desktop.

It turns out that Sorie Kim is largely "self taught." The way to do this is apparently:

(1) Be born into wealth.
(2) Drop out of school.
(3) Spend at least a year traveling through Asia.
(4) Bring your sketchbook.
(5) Already have immense talent.

I'm not convinced that's going to work for me, but I will do my best.

( I'm not judging Sorie Kim, by the way! I admire her dedication to her craft and her ambition to take charge of her own education, and I strongly believe everyone should have the resources to travel while pursuing their dreams. )

Anyway, one of the first videos is about the materials the artist uses, and it's a cool video. While I was watching it, I was thinking about the "materials" I use as a writer, which are two:

(1) A student license of MS Word that I got back in 2010? 2011? and never updated because I hate change
(2) Firefox, which I use to do research when I'm too lazy to make something up

...and also this free online journal maybe, which is like a sketchbook I guess?

I'm not saying that writing is easy, but I will forever appreciate that at least it's cheap.
