This is an evil person associated with other evil people etc etc, but let's be real this looks cool as hell.
Here's the story behind me finding this photo:
I went to the Costco in New Jersey to do some pre-Thanksgiving food shopping, and I saw that they had these LED birch tree holiday decorations (these ones here) that are fairly large and look kind of magical. At first I was like, "I'm not paying $150 for fake Christmas trees," but now I'm starting to realize that they're much nicer and less expensive than the lamps you get at Ikea, and actually I would love to have lamps shaped like birch trees.
My husband, who shares my general distaste for Christmas, sneered at the idea, telling me that the tree lamps look like something that Melania Trump would use to decorate the White House. So I googled it, and damn. Wow. Again, evil person associated with other evil people, but those photos are gorgeous.
Idk man, it really doesn't make any long-term sense for there to be ultra-wealthy people in this world. And maybe this is the devil talking; but, if we have to have them, I'd really prefer that they use their resources to create completely impractical displays of beauty that will last long after their empires crumble. Like, purely financial investments are boring. Instead they should build castles and libraries and towers and concert halls while giving money to artists who are like, "Okay, snow queen stalking through a shining palace filled with winter trees, let's make it happen."
It's complicated. On one hand, I love the idea of a winter palace filled with trees. On the other hand, guillotine. On my third hand, maybe I do actually want to go back to Costco and get those tree lamps.
