- I’ve been working on a Breath of the Wild story provisionally called “The Ritual of Lomei Labyrinth.” I’ve wanted to write this for a while, and I’m enjoying myself. I think I’m about half done.
- I maybe? might? be working on a Breath of the Wild coffeeshop AU. It’s possible that I’ll bury this story without ever posting it, but we’ll see.
- I wrote a review of Emi Yagi’s novel Diary of a Void, a not-quite-comedy about a woman in her thirties who lies about being pregnant and then decides to run with the lie because the men at her office suddenly start treating her like a human being. It’s a short novel, but it’s a lot of fun. I’ll let the review sit for a few days before posting it.
- I also wrote a review of Jenn Woodall’s lunarpunk graphic novel Space Trash. I like Jenn Woodall to begin with, and I like Space Trash a lot. Again, I’ll let this air about a bit before submitting it.
- I created a semi-realistic portrait of Hylia (from Skyward Sword) and posted it on Tumblr (here). This piece was a mess from start to finish, and I redrew the line art from scratch three separate times. Finally I was like, “Yeah whatever fuck it.” Idk man, I think I might have hit a wall with this art style.
- Way back in February,
runicmagitek posted an original story idea for a demon-themed zine, and it was such a banger that I was inspired to create character designs. I was thrilled when Runic gave me permission, and I’ve been working on developing the skills to do justice to a full illustration all year. I finally finished the piece, which I posted on Tumblr (here). Runic always has the best story ideas, and this project was a ridiculous amount of fun.
I also started a new game of Breath of the Wild. I forgot how chill it is compared to Elden Ring. I love murder, but sometimes a peaceful walk through the woods is nice too.
