rynlingOkay, cool. Now, in addition to a 1.5k-word precis, I also have a 5k-word beat-by-beat chapter outline for this novel. It's twenty chapters, plus a prologue and an epilogue. Given how I write, that will be around 50k words total, which is good for fanfic but not for tradpub.
Maybe it's best simply to write this thing without worrying too much about the market. Once I have a finished draft, there are all sorts of things I can do with it - freelance editors, workshops, writing conventions, etc - but it's not going to be anything if I don't actually write it.
I'm also worried that I caught lightning in a bottle, and I need to get on this before the spark loses its charge. I wish I could go hang out in a cabin in the woods and write this thing, but...
...now I have to sit down at a desk and catch up on all the work I neglected over the weekend. 🙃
