- I finished Chapter 8 of the nanotech novel. It’s a horrible mess! I also finished Chapter 9. It’s also a horrible mess! Hooray!!
- I submitted the final draft of my story for the Hyrule Apocrypha zine. This is about two weeks early, and I’m sure I could continue to edit this story indefinitely, but I had to let it go.
- After putting my Breath of the Wild Classical Mythology AU story through seven layers of editing hell, I finally posted the last chapter on AO3 (here). I also made a promo post on Tumblr (here). I did my best to channel a Lovecraftian writing style, but I’m proud of myself for not using the words “eldritch” or “Cyclopean” or “squamous” even once.
- It’s been more than a year since its initial publication, so I uploaded a PDF copy of my short essay “Sympathy for the Villain: A Queer Memoir of Online Video Game Fandom” to the publications page of my website. You can find it (here).
- I made a page for my zines on Itchio: https://digitalterrarium.itch.io/
- I did a DTIYS challenge for a witchy wine mom called Beatrix (the original is here), and I posted my version on Tumblr (here). This piece took two weeks, and the result isn’t great. Still, I enjoyed myself, and I’m looking forward to doing more DTIYS challenges as I slowly figure out what my style actually is.
- In preparation for the second edition of my Haunted Houses zine, I drew one of the Addams Family style Victorian mansions of West Philadelphia. I posted the drawing on Tumblr (here).
- Speaking of the Haunted Houses zine, I edited all the stories. They’re not bad! Everything is ready to format, and the zine should be good to go to the printer once I get the cover art.
This week there was a minor snow flurry at the same time the cherry blossoms came out. It wasn’t actually cold, so I got to sit under some cherry trees and drink box wine while watching the petals fly around with the snow. It was fucking magical okay.
