- My essay about Elden Ring was published in the March issue of Unwinnable! This is a digital magazine that’s available by subscription only, but you can read part of my essay on their website (here).

- I posted an illustrated review of the 16-bit Zelda-style adventure game Ocean’s Heart on my blog (here). If you’re into the genre, it’s a really good game.

- I wrote a mini-review for Women Write About Comics that will hopefully be published soon. In the meantime, I collected some of my mini-reviews from last year (here).

- Mirarasol on Twitter finished the illustration for my Breath of the Wild Coffeeshop AU story! I posted a cropped version along with a promo post on Tumblr (here), and you can see the full version on AO3 (here). I really put this story through the wash in terms of editing during the two months since I posted it – which is clearly the best and most optimized order of operations smh – so it should be okay to read now if you’re interested.

- I formatted the newest edition of my Haunted Houses zine from scratch. Formatting used to take forever, but this time I was able to pull off an entire zine in four hour-long sessions. Nice!

- I also created two simple line illustrations, mainly for the purpose of filling otherwise empty page space. I said that I could format quickly, not that I could format well.

- On top of that, I drew a full-color illustration of a spooky Resident Evil Village door for the zine. I posted the piece on Tumblr (here).

- After three unsuccessful pitches elsewhere, I pitched my Wind Waker essay to Sidequest, whose website is (here). The site’s head editor got back to me within the same day to say that they’d love to run it. Hooray!!

The big thing that happened this week is that I decided to put the nanotech novel in a drawer. It was starting to feel a bit too Hideo Kojima for my tastes idk. I’m not sure what to do now. It’s hardcore sakura season in Philadelphia, and I guess it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I took a week or two away from writing fiction to go outside and touch grass.
