But I should say that I'm not taking "boring" for granted!

While I was indulging myself in a spiral of genetic self-loathing last night, I asked my husband how his family is doing. He told me that, earlier this past weekend, his sister took her kids camping in the desert. Unfortunately, a local terrorist organization decided that it was a good night for munitions testing. They dropped several missiles on the campsite, so my husband's sister had to pack up the kids and drive home in the middle of the night with her headlights off.

I was like, "Were you not going to tell me that if I didn't ask," and my husband was like, "It's not worth getting upset every time someone shoots a few missiles."

Cool, cool. Looking forward to visiting in a few weeks I guess.

I realize one can sort of grow accustomed (for certain definitions) to anything, but I still just blinked hard at this anecdote because missiles seem very difficult to get used to.

Yeah... yeah. It's true.

Then again, I learned about the Louisville bank shooting when I logged into Twitter the other day to retweet a piece of Sailor Moon fan art that I saw on Discord. I was like, "Okay, sure," and then I retweeted the art anyway.
