- Like an absolute clown, I decided to go back to work on The Demon King. I’m not sure if this project will go anywhere, but I can’t stop thinking about these idiot characters. To give myself a crutch to support my writing, I made a new account on AO3 to post what I’m working on while I work on it. It’s not worth reading, but the first chapter is (here).

- I posted a free digital version of my short fiction zine It Never Happened on Itchio (here).

- While I was at it, I posted my Haunted Haiku chapbook too. It’s on Itchio (here).

- I posted a PDF of my original folk horror story about rural Pennsylvania, “The Cow-Headed Boy,” on Wordpress (here). The anthology this story belonged to never shipped because of a fire at the publisher’s offices. As a result, the book effectively doesn’t exist. Just my luck, right? What can you do.

- Speaking of which, I also posted a full PDF of my essay about Elden Ring (here). It would generally be polite to wait a few more months until posting this, but listen. The magazine never paid me… or responded to my emails… so fuck it. I might as well go ahead and take care of this while I’m in the mood to post things online.

- I started work on a botanical horror minicomic that I’m calling “Seeded Ground.” I posted the first segment on Tumblr (here). As you can probably tell, the aesthetic I’m going for is “just draw it and post it and don’t think about it too hard.”

I’ve been really ADHD recently, and it’s been difficult to get back into the swing of the nonfiction writing I have to do for work. I’m doing my best to be patient with myself as I attempt to establish a summer routine. In the meantime, it’s been nice to catch up with friends and podcasts while taking long walks through West Philadelphia.
